Rise n' Shine volunteers are an immensely giving, generous group of individuals who have pledged to open their hearts, their schedules, and their ears to our children. You can choose to work with the children or assist with fundraising and special events. You can get involved today in a variety of ways.

WORK WITH THE CHILDREN

Ø      Mentor Program: Be matched as a mentor with a child or teen and provide a healthy, confidential and consistent relationship. Mentors agree to commit a minimum of 4 hours a week with the child for a period of one year. Must be 23 years old or older.

Ø      Summer Camp: Serve as a counselor, activity leader or medical staff at our yearly summer camp. A great opportunity to challenge yourself and make new friends. Must be at least 20 years old.  

WORK WITH THE STAFF

Our small staff relies heavily on volunteers for assistance with office tasks and support in special events. This is a great way to become involved if you are unable to meet the time or age requirements necessary to work directly with the children.

Ø      Fundraising: Participate in Rise n’ Shine sponsored events like the Annual Detlef Schrempf Auction or the Big Bail Out.  Tasks include: set– up, greeting, decorating, auction item procurement, etc. You can also create a 3rd party fundraiser and donate the proceeds to Rise n' Shine.

Ø      Board of Trustees: Use previous board experience to assist us in oversight of the agency and fundraising.

         VOLUNTEER TRAINING

Our two day weekend trainings for mentors and camp counselors occur throughout the year.
